The University has some of the most satisfied students in the UK. Lincoln is a top ten UK university for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2016. In addition, Lincoln has been ranked number one in a range of NSS subject areas including Zoology, Transport and Travel, Design, Biochemistry, and Animal Science. The University is also a top ten institution for student experience, according to the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017.

95% of our most recent graduates were in work or further study six months after graduating, and almost three-quarters were in graduate-level roles according to the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education Survey 2014/15.

The University of Lincoln has been commended by the Quality Assurance Agency for its approach to enhancing students’ learning opportunities. Lincoln is also a top ten institution for teaching quality, according to the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017.

Lincoln is proud to be home to world-leading researchers who are making profound contributions to their subject areas. Research enables us to discover, disseminate and preserve knowledge. More than half of the research submitted by Lincoln to the national Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 was judged to be internationally excellent or world-leading (3* or 4*) – the highest scores possible.

Alongside our world-class academic staff, some of the finest thinkers in their fields visit Lincoln to teach and inspire our students. Our visiting professors, lecturers and speakers include technology expert and presenter Jason Bradbury, naturalist and broadcaster Chris Packham and Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy.

The University of Lincoln is one of 27 members of the Equality Challenge Unit’s (ECU) Race Equality Charter and is currently working towards achieving bronze status.

In support of this, the University has developed and implemented a specific online module which looks broadly at the internationalisation experience at the University of Lincoln through the eyes of a newly arriving student.

Athena Swan Award

The University is proud to have been successfully awarded the institutional Athena SWAN bronze award and has continued to build on this success with a number of our STEMM based schools, which have all received individual bronze awards in recognition for their work in support of gender equality.

The University is a member of The Equality Challenge Unit (ECU) and is currently working towards the expanded ECU Athena SWAN Gender Equality Charter mark.
