Black History Month Resource Pack 2025

This year’s theme pays tribute to the resilience, strength, and unwavering commitment to progress that defines Black communities across the world. It highlights the vital contributions of leaders, activists, creatives, and pioneers who have shaped our shared history, while inspiring a future rooted in unity, empowerment, and cultural pride.

Power represents the influence, leadership, and strength it takes to shape change — from civil rights campaigns and political movements to innovations in science, business, education, and the arts. It is about the collective courage to push boundaries, break down barriers, and reimagine what is possible.

Pride celebrates Black heritage, culture, identity, and the beauty of a shared legacy. It is expressed through music, storytelling, fashion, language, and lived experience. Pride reminds us where we come from, how far we’ve come, and why Black history is a history that belongs to everyone.

Black History Month 2025 also marks significant milestones, including:

  • The 60th anniversary of the Race Relations Act
  • The anniversary of the death of Malcolm X
  • A tribute to the Bristol Bus Boycott, led by Paul Stephenson

These anniversaries are not only historical touchpoints but powerful reminders of the continued struggle for equality and justice.

This resource pack is for everyone — educators, community organisers, councils, youth workers, businesses, and beyond — who want to engage meaningfully with Black history. It’s a celebration of Black excellence, a toolkit for learning and reflection, and a rallying call to stand firm in both power and pride.
