BHM Film: Winnie

10 October 2018

While 2018 celebrate Nelson Mandela’s centenary year we are proud to present Winnie. While her husband was in prison for 27 years, and paradoxically safe and free from all conflicts, Winnie Madikizela Mandela threw herself into a life of struggle and violence.

The film tells the compelling story of Winnie’s radical life, as a misunderstood and intriguingly powerful contemporary female political figures.

As part of Serendipity’s year round programme celebrating Black History Month every day, BHM Film brings together a collection of thought provoking documentaries and independent cinema
