Martin Luther King : His Reputation & Legacy Today

About this Event

In the month that Martin Luther King is remembered and celebrated in the USA and world-wide, Professor Neil Wynn will offer an assessment of the Civil Rights leader, his career, achievements and significance. In challenging some of the more widely held views of King, Professor Wynn looks at how King became an “American hero” and asks which Martin Luther King do we remember, and for what?
Neil Wynn is Emeritus Professor of American History at the University of Gloucestershire. He taught for many years at the University of Glamorgan and on international programs at Central Missouri University and the Maastricht Center for Transatlantic Studies. Neil has published several works on African American and American History and regularly speaks on local radio regarding historical issues and current affairs in the USA.
