Black History Month has been observed since 1987 and it aims to celebrate people and events in the history of people of African and Caribbean descent.
As an Intercultural Worship Community, we want to celebrate and commemorate the black voices, stories and people that fought for racial justice and made an impact to our British and global society. We want to lament and remember the black voices and stories which were overlooked and marginalised and we want to encourage positive awareness about Black History.
We will be hosting an exciting service specifically for Black History Month. We will have reflections, quizzes, poems, spoken words (and lots more!). We will also have a guest speaker sharing a powerful reflection so you don’t want to miss this!

Gatherings for worship services are an exemption from the ‘rule of six’ therefore in line with government guidelines this service will only be reserved for a maximum of 30 people. There will be no singing, no food and / or beverages will be provided and there will be a 2 metre social distancing seating arrangement. We may take photographs or video footage during this service. These may appear in printed publications, promotional posters, leaflets and / or our social media page. We will, however only include images / video footage with the consent of the individual and we will only include images of children, young people, vulnerable adult (s) in our publicity and / our social media page with the consent of a parent (s) or legal carer (s). To comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, we need permission before we use images of you and / or your children, vulnerable adults in this way so we would ask you to answer the questions during the registration process.
