Spoken Word and Sip & Paint

Saturday 11th June

Poetry X Sip and Paint with Courtney Conrad and Kaozara Oyalowo with Drinks by Saint Ogun

The Young Africa Centre (YAC) is proud to host an intimate Poetry X Sip and Paint event on behalf of The Africa Centre (TAC). The event will explore the theme of Home, Black(ness) in the UK and Migration and what that means to our feelings of belonging and identity.

It promises to be a soulful evening with poetry by Courtney Conrad and Kaozara Oyalowo and live, experimental music by Uromi. All of whom are a mix of African and Caribbean heritage, opinionated, and bold.

Audiences will be encouraged to release their creativity on canvas as part of our Sip and Paint portion of the event, moderated by the host (Uromi) who will provide prompts and guidance to help them explore the theme visually. This part of the session will include a menu of customised cocktails in partnership with Saint Ogun, an African/ Caribbean rum brand who will curate three different tastey cocktails inspired by the poets and the pieces performed.
