Blackchat: In Conversation With Herdle White

Tuesday 4th October

Presented by Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage

The longest serving African Caribbean radio DJ in the BBC, Herdle White has been presenting shows for BBC Radio Leicester for over 50 years. Starting his radio career with a five-minute Caribbean roundup, Herdle went on to produce Talking Blues (which marks its fortieth anniversary this year) before the show evolved into the current The Sound of The Caribbean.

A familiar face at Leicester Caribbean Carnival, this is an opportunity to celebrate a local trailblazer and find out more about the music and people who have been a backdrop to his life.
