Paul Simon’s Graceland Reimagined By The London African Gospel Choir

Sunday 26 April

Prepare to be uplifted and inspired as the sensational London African Gospel Choir brings its acclaimed reimagining of Paul Simon’s Graceland to Leicester.

With 22 performers—including vocalists, musicians and dancers from across Africa and the diaspora—this soul-stirring show breathes new life into one of the most iconic albums of all time.

The evening begins with a powerful first set of African gospel, celebrating the Choir’s musical roots through traditional harmonies, call-and-response, and infectious rhythms. These songs reflect the spiritual and cultural richness of the continent, delivering an electrifying and deeply moving opening.

In the second half, the Choir turns its energy to Graceland, reinterpreting the groundbreaking 1986 album with authenticity, reverence and joy. From Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes to Homeless and You Can Call Me Al, every track is performed with fresh vitality and a deep connection to its South African origins.

Since its debut performance of Graceland Reimagined, the Choir has performed to sold-out audiences across the UK and beyond. Their work has been praised for its musical brilliance and emotional depth, forging a powerful connection between cultures and generations.

Running time: 2 hours, 15 minutes (including a 20-minute interval). A night of rhythm, heritage and harmony not to be missed.
