Launch of the Lambeth Libraries Black Classic Literature Collection

Saturday 1 November

Join us and special guests for the unveiling of an exciting new collection that honours the rich legacy of Black British and diasporic literature.

The Black Classic Literature Collection brings together timeless works—from the poetic brilliance of Una Marson to the radical prose of CLR James—in a curated selection of novels, essays, memoirs, and poetry.

These titles are a celebration of resilience, creativity, and identity. They showcase revolutionary ideas and enduring stories that have long deserved centre stage.

Following the launch, titles from the collection will be available to borrow on a one-week loan basis.

Come celebrate literature that moves, challenges, and inspires.
