Black Tudors & Beyond Quest: City of London

Discover London’s hidden Black history in this unique interactive walking quest through the City of London. Created by Hidden Tudors Tours, Black Tudors & Beyond Quest invites participants to solve clues, riddles and puzzles while uncovering the remarkable stories of Black people who lived, worked and shaped the City during the Tudor period and beyond.

 

Beginning at St Mary Aldermanbury Garden, teams follow a self-guided trail to uncover little-known stories, including the first recorded Black resident of the City of London, the Black Prince who lived in the City, and the individuals and events connected with the early development of the transatlantic slave trade. Along the way, participants also discover inspiring stories of resistance, abolition and social change.

Designed for families, friends, schools and community groups, the quest combines history, teamwork and exploration in an engaging 90-minute experience. Participants work together to collect clues, solve challenges and reveal a secret password, with a prize awarded to the first team to complete the quest successfully.

Suitable for all ages, Black Tudors & Beyond Quest: City of London offers a fresh and interactive way to explore Britain’s multicultural past while discovering the hidden Black history woven into the streets of the capital. Advance booking is recommended as places are limited.
