Classically Black 2026 returns to Kings Place in London for a full day celebrating Black and Global Majority musicians, composers and creative voices within classical music.
Presented by Black Lives in Music, the event brings together performances, discussions and showcases designed to celebrate talent while examining representation within Britain’s classical music sector.
Classical music has a rich and diverse history, yet Black musicians and composers have often received less recognition within mainstream institutions, concert programmes and historical narratives. Classically Black aims to help change that by creating a prominent platform where established performers, emerging musicians and new audiences can come together.
Throughout the day, visitors can experience a programme of concerts, discussions and showcases exploring different aspects of classical performance and creativity. Sessions include Under The Skin, One People, Keyboard Warriors, The Next Movement Showcase and Down with the Patribachy, providing audiences with a broad range of performances and perspectives.
The event also creates opportunities for emerging musicians to connect with industry professionals while showcasing the breadth of talent developing across Britain’s Black and Global Majority classical music community.
By bringing musicians, audiences and industry leaders together during Black History Month 2026, Classically Black highlights both the historic contribution and contemporary creativity of musicians whose work continues to enrich Britain’s cultural landscape.
Visitors can attend individual events throughout the day or choose a full-day pass to experience the wider programme.
