The Black History Culture Tour Bus invites visitors to discover the people, neighbourhoods and stories that have shaped Black London through a guided journey across the capital.
Beginning at the African and Caribbean War Memorial in Windrush Square, Brixton, the tour travels through areas closely connected with African and Caribbean history while an experienced guide explains the significance of locations along the route.
The journey offers participants an opportunity to see how Black British history is woven into the streets, buildings and communities of London.
Brixton has played an important role in post-war Caribbean settlement and remains closely associated with Black British culture, entrepreneurship, music, community organising and political activism.
From Brixton, the tour travels through areas including Stockwell and Vauxhall before moving towards central London and other locations connected with Black history.
By exploring these stories in the places where they happened, the tour provides a different way of engaging with history beyond books, classrooms and museums.
Participants can expect approximately three hours of guided exploration before returning to Brixton.
