African Night Season 2.0 comes to Aberystwyth for a late-night celebration of African music, fashion, culture and community at the beginning of Black History Month 2026.
Presented by Afrovybsent, the End of Summer Bash Edition brings together Afrobeats, Amapiano, dancehall, hip-hop, R&B and house music for five hours of dancing and live entertainment at The Academy.
DJs, hosts and performers will keep the energy moving throughout the night, creating an event inspired by contemporary African nightlife and the global influence of African music.
The evening will also feature a masquerade theme, with guests encouraged to wear a mask, dress creatively and take part in the atmosphere. A best-dressed competition will celebrate fashion, individual style and cultural expression.
Visitors are also encouraged to represent their country by bringing a national flag, reflecting the event’s aim of bringing together people from across Africa and its diaspora.
Alongside the music, African Night provides opportunities to meet new people and connect with students, professionals, creatives and members of the wider community. Professional photography and filming will take place during the event.
The organisers describe the night as an inclusive celebration open to people of all backgrounds who want to experience African music, culture and positive community energy.
Taking place from Friday evening into the early hours of Saturday morning, African Night Season 2.0 offers a lively way to begin Black History Month in Aberystwyth.
Admission is for adults aged 18 and over. Doors open at 10:00pm, and advance booking is recommended.
