Dizzee Rascal – We Want Bass 2026 UK Tour

Friday 30th October 2026

British rap and grime pioneer Dizzee Rascal comes to Leeds as part of his We Want Bass 2026 UK Tour, bringing more than two decades of groundbreaking British music to O2 Academy Leeds.

Few artists have played a more significant role in taking grime from London’s underground youth culture to mainstream British and international audiences.

Emerging from East London’s early grime scene, Dizzee Rascal’s debut album Boy in da Corner arrived in 2003 with a sound that felt unlike almost anything else in British popular music at the time.

The album’s sparse electronic production, rapid rhythms and unmistakably London lyrical perspective captured a young artist documenting the world around him on his own terms.

It went on to win the Mercury Prize, and Dizzee became one of the artists most closely associated with grime’s emergence as a major British cultural movement.

Over the years that followed, he crossed between grime, hip-hop, electronic and pop music, achieving major chart success while helping demonstrate that distinctly British Black urban music could reach enormous audiences without abandoning its origins.

Songs from across his career have become part of the soundtrack to a generation, while the movement he helped establish opened doors for many of the British rappers and MCs who followed.

The We Want Bass 2026 UK Tour brings Dizzee back to venues around the country with a career-spanning live show built around his distinctive delivery, uncompromising early material and festival-sized anthems.

Taking place on the penultimate night of Black History Month, the Leeds concert provides an opportunity to celebrate a musician whose career forms an important part of the history of Black British music in the twenty-first century.

For audiences who followed grime from its earliest days as well as younger fans discovering that history retrospectively, Dizzee Rascal at O2 Academy Leeds promises a high-energy celebration of one of Britain’s most influential rappers.
