House of Funk Friday Night Party

Friday 16th October 2026

Turn up the groove as House of Funk brings a night of classic funk and soul to Bibis during Black History Month 2026.

The live band celebrates a musical tradition shaped by some of the most influential Black artists and groups of the twentieth century, drawing inspiration from the explosive performances of James Brown, Kool & The Gang, Sly and the Family Stone, The Meters and Parliament.

Funk developed from African American soul and R&B during the 1960s, placing rhythm at the centre of the music and creating a sound that would go on to influence disco, hip-hop, house, contemporary R&B and countless other genres.

House of Funk celebrates that history through a high-energy live performance built around powerful vocals, sharp rhythms, bass, brass and some of funk’s most recognisable songs.

The advertised repertoire includes I Got You (I Feel Good), Sex Machine, Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag, Cissy Strut, Jungle Boogie and Give Up the Funk.

The evening begins at 6:30pm with a welcome drink and music from the resident DJ before guests sit down for dinner.

At 9:00pm, House of Funk takes over the stage with its live set, before the DJ returns to keep the party moving until midnight.

Tickets cost £25 per person and include the welcome drink, live show and DJ after-party. Food is additional, and guests are required to purchase at least one main course per person.

Taking place during Black History Month, the evening provides an opportunity to celebrate a musical form whose innovations continue to shape global popular culture more than half a century after funk first emerged.

Please note that flashing lights and strobe effects will be used during the performance.
