The timeless music of Luther Vandross is celebrated in Leeds as acclaimed tribute performer Harry Cambridge brings some of the singer’s best-loved songs to Bibis Italianissimo.
A winner of television’s Stars in Their Eyes, Cambridge has built a reputation for recreating the distinctive sound and warmth associated with one of the greatest soul vocalists of the modern era.
Vandross’ career produced a remarkable catalogue of songs that became central to soul and R&B music throughout the 1980s, 1990s and beyond.
The Leeds performance will revisit classics including Never Too Much, Dance With My Father and A House Is Not a Home, alongside other favourites from the Vandross repertoire.
Cambridge’s show also reaches into the wider history of soul and Motown, incorporating music associated with artists including Lionel Richie and The Four Tops.
That broader repertoire places the evening within a musical tradition shaped by generations of Black American singers, songwriters and vocal groups whose influence remains deeply embedded in contemporary popular music.
The event is presented as part of Bibis’ dinner-and-show programme. Guests book for 6:00pm, with the live performance beginning at 8:00pm.
There is a £20 music charge per person, which does not include food or drink. Bibis requires guests attending Showtime events to purchase at least one main course per person from the restaurant’s menu.
Taking place during Black History Month, Harry Cambridge as Luther Vandross offers an evening celebrating the sophistication, romance and enduring influence of classic Black soul music.
