Known as “the young man with the old soul”, Marvin draws from the songbooks of Sammy Davis Jr., Fats Waller, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole and Billy Eckstine.
With his rich baritone voice, effortless swing and natural gift for storytelling, Marvin brings their timeless music and remarkable histories to life.
Celebrating the extraordinary contribution of Black artists to jazz and popular music, Blue Notes, Black Voices blends classic songs, humour and stories from the lives of these influential performers.

About Marvin Muoneké
Vocalist, trumpeter, songwriter and arranger Marvin Muoneké is establishing himself as one of the most distinctive voices on the UK jazz scene.
Known for his deep, silky vocal tone and charismatic stage presence, Marvin draws inspiration from the golden age of jazz and popular song while bringing its spirit to contemporary audiences.
His fascination with jazz began when he was four years old after hearing Louis Jordan’s Is You Is or Is You Ain’t My Baby in a Tom and Jerry cartoon. As a teenager, he immersed himself in the music of early jazz figures including Jelly Roll Morton and Don Redman. In 2014, he joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Mark Armstrong.
A collaboration with pianist and composer Alex Webb on Forbidden Fruit brought wider recognition when the recording was selected as Nigel Williams’ Track of the Week on Jazz FM.
Marvin was nominated for Jazz Artist of the Year at the 2024 Boisdale Music Awards. In 2026, he received nominations for Vocalist of the Year at both the Jazz FM Awards and the Parliamentary Jazz Awards.
Alongside a busy performing schedule across the UK, Marvin regularly tours with the Down for the Count Swing Orchestra and has performed with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2025, he fulfilled a long-held ambition by forming his own swing orchestra, Big Marv’s Big Fat Band.
With two albums released and a third in production, Marvin combines the assurance of a seasoned entertainer with a deep love for the history and storytelling at the heart of jazz.
