Multi-award-winning journalist, filmmaker and Black Current News founder Nadine White shares lessons from her groundbreaking career in journalism and filmmaking.
The University of Bedfordshire welcomes Nadine as the next speaker in its Powered by Experience lecture series.
Coinciding with Black History Month, this special event will begin with a keynote from Nadine, followed by a panel discussion with University of Bedfordshire students and staff.
Together, they will explore what it takes to build a meaningful career, tell stories that are often overlooked and create something of your own.
Nadine’s keynote will draw on more than a decade of experience in journalism and filmmaking, including her groundbreaking role as Britain’s first dedicated Race Correspondent.
From local newsrooms and the national press to founding Black Current News and creating the documentary Barrel Children: The Families Windrush Left Behind, Nadine will share what she has learned about taking risks, overcoming setbacks and finding purpose through her work.
Following the keynote, Nadine will join students and staff to discuss career development, finding your voice, navigating change and creating opportunities in a competitive industry.
The event forms part of the University of Bedfordshire’s commitment to Career-Powered Education, connecting students with influential voices and practical experience to inspire ambition, confidence and positive change.
