Kellogg College’s Black History Month Lecture examines how artificial intelligence is transforming the workplace—and asks how we can prevent new technologies from reinforcing existing racial inequalities.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing how decisions are made across workplaces and industries around the world. But as these technologies become more influential, important questions must be asked: who benefits from them, who could be disadvantaged and whose experiences are included in their design?
Kellogg College’s Black History Month Lecture will be delivered by Landé Belo, one of the UK’s leading experts on employment law, equality and organisational change.
In The Future Isn’t Neutral: Race, Fairness and Equality in the Age of AI, Belo will explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the workplace and examine its potential impact on race, fairness and inclusion.
Drawing on her experience in global employment law and AI regulation, she will consider both the opportunities and the risks created by these emerging technologies.
The lecture will ask what organisations, employers and policymakers must do to ensure artificial intelligence helps advance equality instead of embedding existing discrimination and bias within new systems.
This timely event will provide an opportunity to think critically about technology, responsibility and the kind of future we want to create.
