Discover authentic Ghanaian rhythms with expert drummer Abass Dodoo and the One-Drum team at these free, interactive workshops in Clapham Junction.
Participants will learn how to play traditional African rhythms while discovering some of the stories and cultural traditions behind the music.
The sessions are led by Abass Dodoo, an expert Ghanaian drummer, and his experienced One-Drum team.
Each one-hour workshop offers a joyful and welcoming introduction to Ghanaian drumming. Participants will be guided step by step, making the sessions suitable for complete beginners as well as those who already have some musical experience.
Everyone will have the opportunity to play a drum and experience the energy of making music together.
The workshops form part of the Black History Month Market, a vibrant celebration of African and Caribbean heritage featuring Black-owned traders, food vendors, live performances and other activities. The wider market runs from 12 noon to 5pm.
Bramlands Square is opposite the Grant Road exit of Clapham Junction station, between Dawes House and Grant Road.
The workshops are free, but spaces may be limited. Booking in advance is recommended.
