Windrush Silent Heroes Annual Dinner, Show & Dance

Saturday 24th October 2026

Windrush Silent Heroes Annual Dinner, Show & Dance returns during Black History Month for an evening recognising the contribution and legacy of the Windrush generation.

The event honours individuals whose lives, work and sacrifices helped shape modern Britain, including many whose contributions have not always received widespread public recognition.

Guests will be welcomed with an evening reception before enjoying a three-course dinner and a special Windrush-themed showcase.

The programme combines remembrance and celebration, providing an opportunity to reflect on the experiences of Caribbean people who travelled to Britain after the Second World War and the generations that followed.

The Windrush generation made major contributions across public transport, healthcare, manufacturing, public services, business, culture and community life. Their experiences also reveal the challenges faced by people building new lives in Britain while encountering discrimination in housing, employment and wider society.

Events such as Windrush Silent Heroes ensure that these stories are remembered not only through major historical figures but also through the experiences of families and communities across the country.

Following the dinner and showcase, guests can continue the evening with music and dancing.

The event offers an opportunity for different generations to come together and celebrate an important part of Black British history.
