The fifth workshop is all about the connection between Senegal and Afrobeats. When I listen to Afrobeats, I can still hear the rhythms from my country. I will be teaching Sabar dance to Fasse rhythm and we will then explore these rhythms within Afrobeats with guest teachers Eddie Boakye (Ghana) and Funmi Opeyemi (Nigeria). I have not seen anyone do a Afrobeat-Sabar fusion with live drums before – this vibe blows my mind. Come join us!
