The Heritage Collective: Honouring Black History, Culture and Identity

Monday 19th October 2026

UWE Bristol brings people together for an evening celebrating Black heritage, creativity, culture and community as part of Black History Month 2026.

The Heritage Collective reflects this year’s national Black History Month theme, Honouring Our Communities, recognising the people and communities whose contributions help enrich our society.

The programme includes recognition of Black colleagues and communities, cultural showcases, poetry, creative contributions, interactive quizzes and opportunities to share traditions and experiences.

The event has been designed as a welcoming space to connect, learn and celebrate the richness of Black heritage and identity.

Importantly, the event is open to the general public as well as students, staff, alumni, businesses, schools and colleges.

The event runs from 5.30pm to 8pm.

Admission is free, but booking is required.
