Brixton Black History – Wikipedia Edit-a-thon Tuesday 29 October

Monday 28 October

Ever been curious about contributing to the world’s biggest online encyclopaedia but didn’t know how? Brixton Library’s monthly Wikipedia meetup can show you!

If you like learning about and contributing to the recording of Black history in your community then this is a great place to get involved.

We will be working with Wikimedia UK for this edit-a-thon, to write about and enhance articles about Black people, history and society.

You can use the session to explore Brixton Library’s Black Interest book collections, our library service’s online subscriptions to packages like the British Newspaper Archive and Who’s Who and much more! We will also look at Wikimedia Commons and how you can use photographs and images. Bring along a laptop or use our computers in the library. In partnership with Wikimedia UK.
