Mortimer

Sunday 27 July

Hailing from Jamaica and quickly establishing himself as one of the island’s most compelling voices, Mortimer brings his stirring blend of roots reggae and contemporary soul to London for a powerful, one-night-only live performance.

Renowned for his introspective songwriting and emotive delivery, Mortimer crafts music that resonates with both heart and heritage. Effortlessly weaving traditional reggae rhythms with the nuance and flair of modern Jamaican soundscapes, he creates a sonic world that is at once timeless and forward-looking. It’s a balance that reflects both his musical influences and his own unique sensibility — with echoes of Bob Marley, Donny Hathaway, and John Legend, as well as modern collaborators like Stephen Marley, Protoje, Jorja Smith, Damian Marley, Kabaka Pyramid and Lila Iké.

At the heart of it all is Mortimer’s voice — an instrument of remarkable versatility and depth. Shifting with ease between a smoky, textured alto and a soaring falsetto, his vocal delivery is patient and poised, full of emotional weight and understated power. Whether wrapped in the warmth of a roots groove or floating atop stripped-back arrangements, Mortimer’s performances are deeply affecting, marked by authenticity and soul.

Every live show offers something distinct: a meditative, musical journey through love, struggle, spirit, and self.
