Obie Trice

Tuesday 14 October

A defining voice in the early 2000s Detroit rap explosion, Obie Trice carved his place in hip-hop history as a formidable lyricist, known for his razor-sharp delivery, raw authenticity, and unmistakable cadence. Now, he brings his unfiltered energy and classic catalogue to the stage for a night steeped in nostalgia, swagger, and pure Detroit grit.

Initially introduced to the world as a protégé of Eminem and one of the standout names on the legendary Shady Records roster, Obie quickly rose to prominence alongside a heavyweight crew that included D12, Royce da 5’9”, and 50 Cent. His platinum-certified 2003 debut Cheers remains a cornerstone of the era, boasting timeless anthems like “Got Some Teeth”, “The Set Up”, and “Don’t Come Down”.

But Obie’s influence goes far beyond his solo records. His voice—instantly recognisable and impossible to imitate—made a lasting impact on tracks like “Without Me” (with his now-iconic intro), contributions to the 8 Mile soundtrack, D12’s Devil’s Night, and even posthumous Tupac album Loyal to the Game, handpicked by Eminem for collaboration.

In 2025, Obie Trice continues to fly the flag for authentic hip-hop, bringing with him the gritty brilliance of Detroit and a legacy built on bars, beats, and bulletproof conviction.
