PAT THOMAS & KWASHIBU AREA BAND

Thursday 22nd July

We’re joined by one of Ghana’s all-time great vocalists: “The Golden Voice Of Africa” Pat Thomas and Kwashibu Area Band.

A regular collaborator with Ebo Taylor, Thomas was a mainstay of ‘70s and ‘80s Ghanaian highlife, afrobeat and afro-pop scenes, hitting big with the Ghana Cocoa Board-sponsored Sweet Beans band.

His 2015 release on Strut Records announced his triumphant return as a bandleader and a force within Ghanaian highlife circles and beyond. In 2019 he landed with new singles on the same label and a brand new European tour to help them celebrate their 20th anniversary.
