Bring Along Baby: Loving (12A)

26 October 2017, 11am

Director: Jeff Nichols. USA 2016. 120 mins. Cert 12A

Celebrate Black History Month with Jeff Nichols’ incredible portrayal of the “Loving” case – a love story that made its way all the way to the supreme court of America.

In the 1950s, Richard Loving, a white construction worker in Caroline County, Virginia, fell in love with a local black woman and family friend, Mildred Jeter. They were married in 1958 and lived together in Central Point, a small town in Virginia, where they began making their home and raising a family. Before they know it, the couple are arrested by the state for the crime of interracial marriage, and so ensues a legal battle that will go down in history as a turning point for the American civil rights movement.

Featuring standout performances from star’s Joel Edge and Ruth Negga, who were both praised worldwide for their portrayals of the Loving couple.
