Caribbean Connections: Windrush 75 celebrations

Saturday 28 October

Join Action for Race Equality and Descendants Youth in October half term for a fun, family-friendly celebration of the Windrush Generation!

This Black History Month, come together for a family and youth focussed event which celebrates the stories of the Windrush Generation, as well as the work of young people who have been learning about their routes and roots in the Caribbean!

We’re delighted to be hosting this FREE community event in a year that marks the 75th anniversary of the arrival of HMT Empire Windrush at Tilbury Docks in Essex – a key moment in post-war Commonwealth migration to the UK.

Those who arrived on 22nd June 1948 and subsequently, are now known as the Windrush Generation.
