African Night Fever & Easy Skankin present Black Slate at Lewes Con Club for a powerful evening of live reggae, culture and community, marking the start of Black History Month 2026.

 

Taking place on Saturday 3rd October from 7:30pm to 11:00pm, the event brings one of the UK’s most respected reggae bands to the stage, offering an immersive live music experience rooted in Caribbean heritage.

Black Slate are widely recognised as pioneers of the British roots rock reggae sound, with a career spanning more than five decades. Their performances combine classic reggae rhythms with meaningful lyrics, creating an atmosphere that is both uplifting and reflective.

The evening is designed as a full cultural experience, with lovers rock and reggae music creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for audiences. Food will be available from African Caribbean vendors, adding to the sense of community and celebration throughout the night.

With its focus on live music, heritage and shared cultural experience, the event offers a dynamic and engaging way to celebrate the beginning of Black History Month, bringing people together through rhythm, connection and collective memory.
