J. Cole – The Fall-Off Tour

Monday 26th October 2026

Grammy-winning rapper J. Cole brings The Fall-Off Tour to Glasgow’s OVO Hydro towards the end of Black History Month.

One of the most prominent American rappers of his generation, Cole has built a career around detailed storytelling, personal reflection and observations on ambition, inequality, family, race and contemporary American life.

The Glasgow arena date takes place on Monday 26th October, with doors opening at 6:30pm.

Cole’s career has developed alongside a period in which hip-hop has moved from the cultural margins to become one of the dominant forms of global popular music.

His first Grammy nomination came in the Best New Artist category, and he later won Best Rap Song for his contribution to 21 Savage’s A Lot.

His music often occupies a different space from the more celebratory side of mainstream rap.

Albums and songs have examined the pressures surrounding fame, material success and social expectations while returning repeatedly to questions of community and identity.

That storytelling tradition connects to something much older within Black culture.

Hip-hop emerged from Black and Latino communities in New York during the 1970s, developing through DJing, MCing, breakdancing and graffiti before spreading internationally.

Rap gave artists a form through which everyday life could be documented directly — sometimes politically, sometimes humorously and sometimes with intensely personal detail.

J. Cole belongs to a later generation that inherited those traditions and adapted them for a global audience.

For Black History Month, this Glasgow show provides the contemporary end of that cultural story.

Rather than looking back at a completed chapter of Black music history, audiences can experience one of the artists currently shaping hip-hop’s continuing evolution.

With an arena-scale production and a substantial catalogue behind him, The Fall-Off Tour adds a major modern Black music event to Glasgow’s October programme.
