Relish the mellow sounds of two UK rap artists, GBNGA and Lemzi, in this free gig.
futuretense is all about showcasing the best new British and international music, giving you the chance to discover artists on the up, and find your next musical obsession.
It’s free, and happens twice a month in our Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer.
GBNGA hails from Tottenham, and his music combines a breezy vibe with influences from grime and garage. His smooth, introspective flow and honest lyrics provide a glimpse into the artist’s daily experiences and the lives of those around you. GBNGA has a keen eye for visuals too – as seen on the single ‘Sleep’, which he made in his bedroom during lockdown.
Lemzi describes himself as ‘a soul artist who raps’, and on his latest project, Outliers, his tracks flick between upbeat party-ready tunes, mellower moods and intricate, lyrical social commentary. Lemzi has performed across London and internationally, and each show is a one-off. Lemzi is also the lead artist and part of the founding team of leading music-based mindfulness app Spoke.
