Join London-based author and poet Naya Antonio for an evening of open readings and conversation about writing, creative confidence and the journey to publication.
Designed as a welcoming space for unpublished writers, the event offers an opportunity to share work, meet fellow creatives and hear about the experience of becoming a published author.
The first part of the evening features open readings, inviting participants to present a short extract in a supportive environment. Writers working in fiction, poetry, memoir, spoken word and creative non-fiction are welcome to take part.
An informal question-and-answer session with Naya Antonio follows. Drawing on her own publishing experience, she will discuss subjects including developing your craft, building confidence in your writing, understanding the publishing industry and sustaining a creative practice.
Whether you would like to read your work, ask questions or simply listen, this Black History Month event at Streatham Library brings writers and readers together to celebrate storytelling and emerging voices.
