Chassol at Leeds Grand Theatre

Monday 1st February 2016

‘Chassol is an eclectic genius. It reminds you of Steve Reich, Ennio Morricone or The Cure.’ (Le Monde)

Following inspiring and vibrant performances in James Lavelle’s Meltdown, the EFG London Jazz Festival and Serious Space Shoreditch, visionary artist Chassol returns with an adaptation of his album Big Sun — an energetic and spine-tingling score that he performs live as the film is screened.

The pianist, composer, arranger and musical director specialises in ‘ultrascore’ — a performance fusing and harmonising stunning visuals and rhythmic motifs into a filmic/musical whole. His audiovisual experimentation is one performance you won’t want to miss.

‘I am so in love with this man.’ (Gilles Peterson)
