Byron Wallen’s Four Corners

Widely recognised as a seminal figure in world jazz, trumpeter and composer Byron Wallen has travelled the world performing alongside legendary musicians such as George Benson, Andrew Hill and Chaka Khan.

 

His album Portrait: Reflections on Belonging explores issues of ancestry, Diasporic journey and cultural roots. Landmarks of blues and groove are explored and re-invented and his music draws inspiration from contemporary and indigenous cultures, early Renaissance music and the styles of Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter and Thelonious Monk.
