This Windrush Day celebration in Manchester brings communities together to honour the legacy, resilience and cultural impact of the Windrush Generation and their descendants. Hosted in Alexandra Park by the Caribbean & African Health Network (CAHN), the event features live music, cultural performances, authentic Caribbean food, children’s activities, local community stalls and health-promotion services.
Throughout the afternoon there will also be artistic displays and cultural exhibitions that reflect the stories of Caribbean migrants and their families — from the arrival of the MV Empire Windrush to the present — offering opportunities to connect older and younger generations through celebration and shared heritage.
This free, family-friendly event is open to all and invites visitors of all backgrounds to join in celebrating the contribution of Caribbean culture to British society
