Seen, Valued and Heard: Black Women’s Wellbeing Day

Saturday 24th October 2026

Seen, Valued and Heard: Black Women’s Wellbeing Day is a new community event taking place during Black History Month 2026, dedicated to celebrating, supporting and empowering Black women through meaningful conversations about health, wellbeing and lived experience. Bringing together healthcare professionals, community leaders, advocates and inspirational speakers, the day has been created as a welcoming space where Black women’s voices are centred, their experiences acknowledged and their wellbeing prioritised.

Hosted at the Milton Keynes Hospital Academic Centre, the event will explore a wide range of issues affecting Black women throughout different stages of life. The programme includes discussions on trauma and healing, maternal health and maternity care, mental wellbeing, neurodiversity through a Black woman’s lens, mixed-heritage identity, and the importance of creating safe, supportive environments for young Black girls and future generations. Each session has been designed to encourage open, honest and culturally meaningful conversations while sharing knowledge, practical advice and lived experience.

Alongside keynote speakers and panel discussions, attendees will have opportunities to connect with community organisations, health professionals and others who are passionate about improving outcomes for Black women. The event also includes sessions focusing on physical wellbeing, gentle yoga and mindful movement, recognising the importance of caring for both physical and emotional health.

Whether attending to gain information, seek support, build new connections or simply spend time in a positive and affirming environment, participants will find a programme designed to inspire, educate and encourage wellbeing in all its forms. The event offers a valuable opportunity to reflect on personal experiences, celebrate resilience and strengthen networks within the community.

Taking place during Black History Month, Seen, Valued and Heard: Black Women’s Wellbeing Day highlights the importance of creating inclusive spaces where Black women feel recognised, respected and supported. It promises to be an uplifting and informative day that celebrates community, encourages self-care and promotes lasting conversations about health, equality and wellbeing.
