Ashley Hickson-Lovence and Calum Jacobs in Conversation

Author and lecturer Ashley Hickson-Lovence and writer and creative practitioner Calum Jacobs in conversation. This event is BSL interpreted.

 

Ashley Hickson-Lovence is a novelist and Creative Writing lecturer. He currently tutors at the University of Suffolk and works with young writers for First Story and Arvon. His debut novel The 392 was released in 2019. His second novel Your Show is based on the life and career of former Black football referee Uriah Rennie.

Calum Jacobs is a writer, editor and creative practitioner from south London who draws on sociology, history and culture to explore the liminality of Black British life. In 2017, he launched CARICOM Magazine, a print and online platform dedicated to discussing football and broader culture through a Black lens. Jacobs is also a contributor to various sport and culture publications and has worked on creative projects for agencies and brands. A New Formation is his first book.
