To launch our programme, with the theme for this year, Celebrating Our Sisters, we’ll be joined by Newham born and bred Olympic, World and Commonwealth champion athlete Christine Ohuruogo MBE. She’ll be talking about her career, inspirations, life, achievements and more. The talk will be followed by a Q&A with the audience.

 

British Olympic speaker and World Champion runner Christine Ohuruogu is known the world over for her record-breaking abilities and as one of the most successful British athletes of the last twenty years.

Beginning her running career aged twenty Christine has been working actively as a sporting professional and sports speaker for more than ten years; during this time she has managed to amass a truly impressive five World Championship medals and a further two Olympic medals, including a gold gained at the 2008 Beijing Games.

Christine Ohuruogu MBE is also the first British woman to win two World Championship titles and the first British athlete of either gender to win three global titles in a single event.

Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7.15pm start.
