Roots, Resilience & Wellbeing: Celebrating Black History, Identity and Community

Sunday 18th October 2026

Roots, Resilience & Wellbeing is a community-led Black History Month event bringing together people from across Greater Manchester to celebrate Black history, identity, heritage and community.

Organised by HealBridge Community Wellbeing CIC, the event will create a welcoming space for Black African, Caribbean, Black British, mixed Black heritage, refugee and migrant communities, as well as the wider Greater Manchester community.

The afternoon will explore the relationship between identity, resilience, wellbeing, belonging and community contribution.

Rather than looking only at history from the past, the event also focuses on the experiences of Black communities today and the importance of creating spaces where people can connect, share experiences and support one another.

The programme is designed to celebrate culture and heritage while encouraging conversations about wellbeing, confidence, community strength and the ways people can build a stronger sense of belonging.

The event is suitable for all ages and everyone is welcome.

The event runs from 2pm to 5pm.

Admission is free.
