Lucía Asué Mbomío Rubio is a Spanish writer and journalist, with a mother from Segovia, Spain, and a father from Niefang, Equatorial Guinea. As a writer, Lucía has published two books, Las que se atrevieron (Sial Pigmalion) and Hija del camino (Grijalbo).

In this presentation, Lucía will analyse her work from the point of view of everyday racism and the search for identity, gender racism and the representativeness of black people.

Since 2005 Lucía has worked as a television reporter in programs such as Madrid Directo (Telemadrid), The Gonzo Method (Antena 3) and Spanish in the World (TVE). She directed the documentaries En Tierra de los Nadie for Movistar TV, and, at the moment, she is one of the presenters of Aquí la Tierra (Here the Earth) on TVE. Thanks to the two previous shows she has worked in more than thirty countries. She contributes regularly with El País, Píkara, Ctxt and radio SER.

She is a member of Espacio Afro, the first Afro-centred cultural centre in Madrid and Afromayores, a project which makes visible, through interviews, the presence of black people over 65 years old.
