Spring Melanin (18+) – The day event for Dark Skin WOC. Nurturing, healing conversation & relaxation. Taking place at the The Africa Centre specifically for cis, trans, non-binary dark skinned womxn of colour.

The event offers massages, manicures, energy reading, self care workshop, food – Vapianos, drinks, sweets table by Candy Pop Treats, The Reason Is Vegan and a goody bag for the first 50guests, closing with a surprise performance.

12pm – Doors open

Well Being – We have a meditation room alongside a masseuse, nail technician and energy reader.

Industry Talks (Talks with some of the most amazing dark skin womxn excelling within their careers, discussing their experiences, obstacles and establishing their confidence). Within the theme ‘Pain 2 Power’ we will be discussing how to turn pain into power.

2.30 – 4.30pm – Guest speakers discussing their personal experiences within the industry and how they have dealt with trauma.

Kikz – Dancer & Spiritualist, using movement as therapy.

Mulannoir – Model, entrepreneur & writer.

Professionals from victim support organisation providing knowledge on the various types of abuse and our rights in these situations.

Dawn Estafan – Fully qualified and BACP Registered Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with several years experience working within the Charitable and Voluntary Sector as well as in Private Practice.

Merle Van Den Bosh – International life skills facilitator. Leader in the world of expressive arts education. Founder of Rehearsal For Change which was founded 30years ago.

Naomi Davidson (@AngryVagTalks) – Wellbeing Specialist, Researcher & Author (Counsellor, Mind Warrior Trainer, Fit Mammas Box Fit)

Spring Melanin is a platform curated to balance out the realities of the world in a holistic manner. It visualises the reality of the world we live in but do not get to see represented within the media.
