Black Heroes An exhibition of our Heroes

Monday 5 July - Tuesday 27 July 2021

Black Heroes @ The Gallery is a living exhibition telling the stories of our heroes. A Pop-Up exhibition supported by Westminster Council, launched on Windrush Day 22 June and running through to 27 July.

The exhibition includes :

  • The Black Heroes Wall of Fame – Classic Collection, London’s Great Women of Colour and Wandsworth People
  • The Windrush Collection – Living Room, Bedroom and Kitchen
  • Mary Martin Costume Designer – historic costumes and at work in her design studio
  • African Art – display of works of Art from Ghana exhibited by the London Picture Framing Studio

An Exhibition of our Heroes. Come and experience the Black Heroes Wall of Fame; the Windrush Collection- living room, bedroom, kitchen; Mary Martin of London Costume Design workshops, Ghana Art presented by the London Framing Studio.

Learn about Rosa Parks, Mohamed Ali, Claudia Jones, Garret Morgan, Jesse Owns, Sam King and so many more of our heroes.

We are delighted at the selection of our Trustee Joyce Fraser as an artist-in-residence, in Westminster’s Voids Activation & Pop-up Project. It is an important step on our journey. Allocated the prestigious building 12 Waterloo Place, the installation is named Black Heroes @ The Gallery.
