Exhibition Event: Tavia Nyong’o in conversation with Luke Willis Thompson

Thu 17 August 2017 19:00

Tavia Nyong’o, Professor of African American Studies, America Studies and Theatre Studies at Yale University joins Luke Willis Thompson to discuss autoportrait (2017), Thompson’s new commission for Chisenhale Gallery. Nyong’o reflects on how image production, rather than providing evidence of antiblack violence leading to justice, seems to produce its own economies of suffering and degradation.

The event will start at 7pm and latecomers’ tickets may be reallocated.
