Nursing Cuisine: Cooking across cultures

In the 1950s and 1960s, increasing numbers of students were encouraged to travel from the Caribbean, South Asia and Africa to train as nurses. Living in shared nursing accommodation, cooking for each other was a way of crossing cultural boundaries and sharing their experiences.

Try food from different cultures which have made important contributions to nursing and hear from Professor Nola Ishmael what it was like to be a student thousands of miles from home.
