Prince, the Black History Breakdown

Sat, 24 April 2021 20:00 – 21:30 BST

Visual and forensic review/celebration of Prince’s black power history connections , conscious music and undercover civil rights activism

Prince was a musical genius who died way too soon (21.4.2016). We celebrate and remember his legacy via this interactive presentation and review of his musical career using video clips, sound bites, interviews and audience participation. Although it is not well known, Prince was a huge Black history fan with an extensive library. He also used his art to promote human/civil rights and was involved in the Black Lives Matter campaign.

We will showcase his activism, consciousness, politics and philanthropy and other information neglected by mainstream media. This special one-off presentation will cover:

  • Artists he influenced or mentored
  • Revolution and black history in his songs
  • Hidden stories of his altruism and community work
  • The types of African history he researched and championed
  • Money and legacy
  • Conspiracy theories, real or imagined?
  • Is there a war against ‘conscious’ Black artists

This is an online talk via Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent 45 minutes before the start, please check your JUNK mail. This event starts at promptly at 8pm UK time, do not be late
