Black History Month a Night of Nostalgia and more titled: #MOBBO

Friday 3 October

An unforgettable night of music and culture takes centre stage this Black History Month, celebrating the legacy and sound of Black British music in style. With live performances, DJs, food, and community spirit, this event promises a powerful blend of entertainment and heritage.

Birmingham’s premier saxophonist, Alvin Davis, leads the evening with a nostalgic journey through jazz, reggae, and R&B. His performance pays tribute to the artists who have defined generations and shaped the sound of Black British music. Reggae and R&B DJs will keep the energy high, blending classics with contemporary favourites.

The programme also includes a heartfelt tribute to local icons, with a slideshow honouring the achievements of Black West Midlanders who have left an indelible mark on culture and society. A raffle, stalls, and lively atmosphere ensure there’s something for everyone throughout the night.

Delicious Caribbean cuisine adds flavour to the celebration, with dishes such as jerk chicken, sweet plantains, and other favourites capturing the soul and warmth of Caribbean culture. The food, like the music, brings people together in a spirit of community and joy.

Taking place at Triplex Sports & Social Club, 4 Eckersall Lane, Kings Norton, Birmingham, B38 8SS, on Friday 3rd October 2025 from 7:00 PM until 1:00 AM, tickets are just £8. A true celebration of culture, identity, and resilience—this is a night not to be missed.
