Description

Black Achievers Award is a prestigious black tie award ceremony which aims to strengthen community cohesion and celebrate the roles and achievements in Nottingham.

Black Men and Women have experienced many years of negative press and we aim to change this by showing the Black Community that there are real positive role models out there.

Black Men and Women have experienced many years of negative press and we aim to change this by showing the Black Community that there are real positive role models out there.

This year, our host is Mr Curtis Walker who is a writer and British actor and has toured his own one man show, “Right Now” and is the voice of Carlton in the BBC Children’s comedy Kerching! and has starred in BBC comedy shows Paramount City. Come and enjoy a night of entertainment.

We will have performances from award winning saxophonist Millicent Stephenson. Her versatile interpretations of iconic Jazz, Blues, Reggae, Soul and Gospel numbers as well as her original compositions continue to delight her listeners throughout the UK. We will also have a performance from local dance group Take 1 Dance Studio who has recently come back from their LA tour.
