An Evening of Excellence brings contemporary art, fine dining, entertainment and community together for a sophisticated celebration of Black History Month 2026 in the heart of Birmingham.
Presented by EDENSARTGB, the evening takes place at Malmaison Birmingham and offers an alternative to the traditional gallery experience, combining an intimate art exhibition with a three-course dining experience and live entertainment.
The evening begins with a welcome drinks reception, giving guests an opportunity to meet, connect and settle into the celebration before dinner. This is followed by a three-course meal, after which guests will be invited to explore an exclusive exhibition of contemporary artwork.
By presenting art within a social and celebratory environment, An Evening of Excellence aims to make the experience of discovering contemporary creativity more accessible and engaging. Rather than viewing artwork within a conventional white-walled gallery, guests can encounter it as part of an evening built around conversation, food, music and community.
Black artists and creatives have long played an important role in shaping Britain’s cultural landscape, using visual art to explore identity, heritage, family, society and the experiences of Black communities.
Black History Month provides an opportunity not only to recognise major figures from the past but also to celebrate the artists, entrepreneurs and creative professionals producing important work today.
An Evening of Excellence places that contemporary creativity at the centre of the celebration, creating a space where guests can appreciate artwork while connecting with others from across Birmingham’s diverse communities.
Following the exhibition, a DJ will continue the evening with music and entertainment, allowing guests to enjoy the remainder of the celebration in a relaxed social atmosphere.
Tickets include a welcome drink on arrival, a three-course meal, wine for the table, entertainment, access to the exclusive art exhibition and a gift bag featuring products from Black-owned and culturally aligned businesses.
Guests are encouraged to embrace the evening’s Formal Elegance dress code, with black tie, elegant dresses, suits and polished evening wear setting the tone for the occasion.
Taking place during the opening weekend of Black History Month 2026, An Evening of Excellence provides an opportunity to celebrate Black creativity, culture and community through art, food and shared experience.
The event is for guests aged 21 and over.
