BlackFest 2026 comes to a spectacular conclusion in Birmingham with the Ultimate Black Arts Showcase, an evening dedicated to Black creativity, culture and joy.
Taking place at Secret Space Digbeth on the final Friday of Black History Month, the event brings together music, fashion, visual art, dance, skating and food for five hours of performances and celebration.
BlackFest has developed as a platform for Black artists and communities, presenting work across a wide range of creative disciplines rather than limiting Black cultural expression to any one art form.
Its 2026 programme stretches across several British cities and includes music, theatre, film, visual arts, fashion, poetry, dance, workshops and community activity. The Birmingham celebration serves as the festival’s closing showcase.
Live bands and performers will celebrate Afrocentric music and Black British sounds, with independent artists from local, national and international backgrounds contributing to the evening.
Dance and skating performances bring another dimension to the programme, while contemporary fashion and visual art place Black design and creativity alongside the live performances.
Premium ticket holders will receive entrées, a gift bag valued by the organiser at more than £50 and a drink on arrival, as well as access to the fashion show, bands and full programme of performances. Standard tickets include the live bands, music, dance and wider Black arts showcase.
The event is designed not simply as a performance but as a space to connect, discover and celebrate, bringing artists and audiences together around Black culture.
That emphasis on joy is particularly important. Black History Month rightly creates space for conversations about racism, inequality and historical injustice, but Black history is also a story of creativity, innovation, community, humour, style and cultural achievement.
BlackFest Ultimate Black Arts Showcase places those qualities centre stage, bringing Black History Month in Birmingham towards its conclusion with an evening devoted to artists shaping culture today.
